[WCCF] AMD RX 480 Rivals R9 Nano, GTX 980 - Page 4

3400 / 2900 = 17%

1266 / 1080 = 17%

all leaks seem to match each other. They are still leaks though, rumors.

The one that falls out of place is the VR score, which came directly from AMD.

This card is looking like a great deal for someone like me still trying to survive at 1440p on 2x 7970s. I can sell these two cards and virtually pick up a 480 in exchange and buy a second 480 down the line if I feel I need a bit more power.

Same here. I'm on 1440p and this looks like the perfect card. I keep checking the 1070 prices here in the UK and the retailers are having a laugh - cheapest AIB 1070 is £390!! That's like £90 too expensive for me.

If this chart is true, a 15% overclock should put it close to Fury X. That would really make a fantastic $200 card.

I'm going 8GB. thumb.gif

I don't think it holds true. Having performance that close to the fury X (and therefore, the 980ti) at a $230 price range seems too good to be true. Bear in mind, the $200 card is the 4GB one. 8GB will likely cost 30-40 more.

It's performance achieved through overclocking though, not out of the box, so it doesn't seem so implausible at $230-250 for a reference card. You can overclock a $300 970 to perform the same as a $450 980.

Right, the FuryX has 4GB too.

I'll pay more for double the VRAM. And I don't think 15% of an overclock is unreasonable, I can get that on my 285 (if I wanted my case to double as a stove top), but it is a new chip and we don't know yet. Even if not, Nano/Fury at stock clocks and it's a steal.

I feel bad for anyone who bought an R9 390. Time will tell if the RX 480 goes down as one of the best video cards of all time based on price/performance/wattage.
