I know that I wouldn't, but I have been surprised before, so who knows how receptive the market may be to an "upgrade" to a last gen card.... Lol

I'd take a couple of $300 980Ti's all day long right now. Hell, my OG Titans are still plenty for 1440p gaming so a pair of big Maxwell cards would easily last me for a good long while. But I ain't paying more than $300 each for them and in no way will I ever consider the 1080/1070...

And I'd pay $1000 each for Pascal Titans if they dominate like these Titans did when i got them too. But I wouldn't spend big money on old 28nm cards now with 16nm FF finally here, even if they are still among the fastest cards out there...

C'mon Eric, show your love and support for AMD and get two RX 480s instead! For only $460 you get faster than 1080 performance* and 2GB more vram than 980 Ti, what's not to like? biggrin.gif

*in AoTS under DX12; other games may vary; AMD is not responsible for any resulting disappointment

I'm absolutely buying at least one 480 to replace my 270X but will probably not replace my OG Titans at least until Big Pascal and Vega release. I just don't have the need.

Yeah that's fair. No point spending money pointlessly.

Exactly. But if something like a $300 980Ti Classified showed up I'd probably jump on it. The 980Ti is still such a beast card...

Found this on one of our vendors websites at work. Waiting to hear back on more info.

***note this isn't a public vendor and their list prices are usually a little higher than what you find at amazon for example, but they knock some of the price off when you get a quote***

Open image and click on, view original.

Edit: Looks like this place has some preorders going. Never used them though so not sure how good they are.

Edit 2: Vendor said she isn't getting them in stock until the beginning of July. Looks like I will be keeping an eye out.

I am completely happy with that price. Here's to hoping the Canadian retailers don't decide to mark it up.

Edit: Wait, is that a reference board?

Well a single 980 Ti would probably just match your OG Titans @ 1400 if not fall behind a bit. But it does get rid of all the SLI headaches. Overall though it would still very much be a sidegrade (or even downgrade depending on SLI scaling
