(1400 - 1266) / 1266 = 10.6%

(1500 - 1266) / 1266 = 18.5%

So the 470 might be a card for 150€ that can be unlocked/flashed to a 480 ? smile.gif

I reckon who interests in OC should aim for the 8+6. At that 1400 MHz range the efficiency is a bit off and the chip is power hungry, but it's damn fast and would be a steal at $299 price tag.

I'm not paying $300 for that crap. That's like paying Nvidia prices. We've had 3-4 years of stagnation already in the graphics industry with the 970 being the biggest release in that time and it turned out to be a joke card: only 3.5 gb ram and in short supply not available for MSRP until many months of release.

Given moore's law, we should have fury performance at $250, and 1070 performance at $300. I don't give a crap about their profit margin.

At 1400-1500 you'll be generating a lot of heat especially given that the chip is smaller. You'll hit the same thermal envelop intel chips do where older process chips overclock better because of heat distribution. Most air coolers will start having whine at that level and aren't particularly efficient. You need water to cool it which adds to the cost of the card.

Hopefully AMD has enough supply to keep their MSRP honest:

$199 for base.
$229 for 8gb.
$249 for 8gb custom cooler.

Make it happen AMD. Go take back that marketshare from the slimy bastards on team green.

I doubt it, because the stock is good this time. They have enough chip for both card.

If that can keep up with an oc'ed 980, then that would be sweet. Prolly around 30% oc. Might even surpass the Fury indeed.

Actually, the X70 line has been between 350 and 400 for most of its life. The 970 was particularly cheap, but that was an outlier.
