KRK Rokit 5 Started Popping

Thread Starter
Sorry if I'm posting this in the wrong place. I have a pair of KRK Rokit 5 studio monitors that I purchased in March 2015. One of them started doing this intermittent popping noise while I play music. I haven't mishandled the speaker in any way. Should I try to RMA the speaker? What would you guys do here? Thanks for any help - I appreciate it.

First, I'd change the speakers side to side (ie connect the right speaker to the left source and vice versa) to make sure it's the speaker and not the source. If the popping moves with the speaker then it's likely the speaker that's causing it.

Thank you for your response. For some reason I came home today and there no longer seems to be a pop? Very strange.

When I have odd pop noises / squeaks..... always inspect the browser tabs you have open, one of them is most likely the source. Chrome's mute tab option is super handy in these cases.

Some websites uses ultrasonic and subsonic sounds to fingerprint machines. Sensitive speakers (which the rokits qualify as) can produce these with sufficient dB to be heard, super annoying sometimes.
