It has served you well be proud of it, the 290 tri-x was one of the best gpus i had and one of the best AIB 290s in the market even in cfx they run cool smile.gif

don't see the problem here.

Once again, 180 is Furmark power consumption, and even then it usually is below, according to TPU measurements.

Real gaming power consumption is more like 120 watts, so let's see what it lands us into with those benches:

AotS: 46 fps vs 28 for 110 watts over 120, 1.8x perf/watt
Hitman: .... 2.3x perf/watt, but it's an outlier
Overwatch: ... 1.73x perf/watt

3DMark: ... 1.78x marks/watt

You see where i am going with this? Until i see that 110 watts is Furmark power consumption, that's the numbers i take over AMD slides. Make no mistake, it's still a ridiculous perf/watt jump, but we talk about 1.5 node shrink in the first place.

Furmark is never something I would use on modern gpus. It can damage cards, and amd and nvidia deliberately throttle the card when using it.

270x has calculated tdp of 177w according to g3d. the site which posted this.

E: nvm, its lol with you anyway. keep failing ..

They also seem to have calculated 750 Ti TDP at 92W, which is simply not true.

In Crysis 3 they get 418 wats, in Furmark 500. And this is with mediocre overclocking. I can do 1150/1580 with +125mV voltage increase, believe me this pulls 500W in Battlefield 4 on Max.

I bought it used December... 180$ are 180$. I can probably grab a RX 480 for the same money, given it will run 50% less hot and onsume 50% less. And doing 20% better.

I bought mine in September and with the card being overclocked to 1125/1350 I am getting over 290X performance so basically in the 480 territory going by the rumours. I will look into selling the card but I am definitely not unhappy with the pleasure it's given me.

TDP does not mean power consumption.

after you take off green glasses ? sure wink.gif. because i don't see you nit picking pascal's 2x p/w claims even though it was just 1.6x irl.

we will see how much their claims are true. even though they said UP TO. but keep going ....

I have no problems with p/w claim itself. I have problem with the way it was conducted.

Also, are you saying that Pascal is less power efficient than Maxwell? That's not a tint then, that's literally red stickers on your glasses.

And yes, if they said up to 2.3x, i would have literally no problems, since that aligns with stated perf numbers and real power consumption figures.
