Well I dont get why people are even looking at synthetic benchmarks. They are only good at giving a general idea of how the card will perform. In this case they are useless because we already know the 480 is going to perform around the level of Hawaii graphics cards.

None of those scores makes sense. I got a much higher score with my 290X Lightning a few months ago:

Yeah.. about that. Steam VR benchmarks is most "stupid" benchmark ever.

Did you ever wonder why GTX 960 scores 3.3 and GTX 980 scores 8.9? Let me know when you find logic in that benchmark.
http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/steamvr-performance-test-gpu-comparison,4489.html

same goes for AMD
R9 380 scores 3.3-3.5 while Fury scores 8.5... or GTX 950 2.3 vs GTX 970 6.9.

Looks like SteamVR is not ideal VR benchmark.

why are they being such a tease with the 480. Want to see if it'll be my future card before I end up getting impatient and buying a 1080/1070 tongue.gif.

AMD needs time to build up stock. They released information about it earlier so hype can build and people wait to get the 480.
