I think the HAF-xB is a good little box. You really get a lot for the cost but there is little to compare with regards to the V-33. I built machines previously with Lian Li cases and the problem was that they scratched easily. No it seems like they are much more durable. I really love the cube design, it'll allow the Xbox or PS4 to sit neatly on top. This is one of my fave builds because of the size and how cramped everything is inside. Its slightly challenging but I think the great majority of users here would enjoy this case. its really top notch when it comes to engineering and manufacturing. Everything just lines up so well.

I have this idea and im hoping someone else has done this before with success. I absolutely HATE the 24pin power plug and the 6 or 8 pin CPU power plug. I think its about time that manufacturers come up with something smaller or at least angle it so the plugs are from the side and not straight up. Since these plugs are through hole, I am considering removing the power plugs and soldering them back in place facing the bottom of the MB. I will then cut out the profile hole in the motherboard tray and the power plugs will be plugged in from them bottom. Out of sight, out of mind!

The idea is that if I can carefully remove the plastic housing around teh 24 pins, I can remove the pins one at a time. Removing the 24pin connector in one piece without an advanced re-flow station will be difficult if not completely impossible.

It'll also require a custom power cable since the pins will be reversed on the bottom, the stock 24pin power connector will not work but this should be relatively simple to plan out. I'm going to test this theory on an old MB to see if its possible before I go for it on the new $200+ Gene board. I assume that this will undoubtedly void the warranty so I will test the MB before I do the mod.

Anyone seen this done before? Please link, I would appreciate it!

I saw this done years ago, haven't seen it since and other than seeing it here on OCN, really can't point you to where. I have wasted enough time searching for old build logs to try looking again.
