Help me choose Video Card- Win 10 DirectX 12

Thread Starter
guys,
I have FX 8350 and Asus Sabertooth on air, Win 10 64bit,

trying to upgrade my video card to Either Radeon R9 or GTX 970

I heard DirectX 12 runs much better on R9 cards.

Is it true ? And, Do you recommend DX 12 ?

Which card would be best for my PC ? ( for video editing / intense graphics apps )

thanks in advance

Wait a few weeks and see what amds new rx 480 has to offer. Apparently it will be gtx980 performance for about $200... This is all speculation right now as nothing official has been released but all clues are pointing to those numbers

I agree on waiting

Too many new cards being released in next few weeks that will be better bang for buck or force price drops on current cards.

The only benchmark that I've seen for DX12 AMD vs NVidia was done in Ashes of Singularity which is optimized for AMD drivers/hardware. It's not to say that it's inaccurate, but it's only one review.

With that said, the RX 480 does look like an amazing buy.

Quantum Break
Forza

in those AMD has an advantage and and really thats 5/6 games on the market

Definitely wait for RX 480. The new architecture is supposed to be a bit better in dx11 games too, compared to 390x. $200 for 4gb and $229 for 8gb version. If they can keep those prices in %10 variation, it's gonna be an epic card.
