You mean 700 and 900 series? I've got a "dead" Gigabyte 970 G1 I've sort of lost interest in.

Not sure exactly, but perhaps a trace was broken or a memory module went bad or something in the logic of the chip is now faulty because it artifacts on the desktop insanely and cannot go under load. I tried baking it made the caps buldge (420f, 15 minutes)... perhaps the oven got to 430 and has poor regulation which caused the caps to burst. IDK.

It's a shame as it was a really nice 970 G1 with a custom bios and a lapped cooler. It ran 1506/3950MHz OCCT and game stable before this.

What kind of vcore were you running on the GPU?

1.281v. Running 1.313v doesn't improve the overclock on the GTX 970. Not like it was unsafe or anything. Personally I think I must have bent the PCB and cracked a trace or disconnected some of the solder ball joints on a memory module or the core by accident when I was removing the backplate and messing with it. IDK what went bad on it since it still displayed a picture, although heavily corrupted.
