It's true for the PS4 as well, I know for sure that you can play FFXIV with a KB/M.

This sounds a bit more believable and makes all the more sense. I'm personally not a huge fan of 4K and think 1440P is high enough resolution.

I wasn't positive about the PS4 supporting KB/M outside of its menu. +rep, good to know.

Yup, but with the NEO console owners should expect 1080p60 as a normal thing.

I really want to get a console, but for each console there's just something holding me back

Xbone - no games, any games are coming to windows anyway

Wii U - not looking into getting reamed by Nintendo and their awful business practices (region lock, awful online, physical DLC, etc.) although the system does have the most true exclusives

PS4 - REALLY wanting to get one, unfortunately not enough exclusives to warrant the purchase - also with PS4 Neo on the horizon it's hard to justify spending $300 on a relatively soon to be outdated console that can barely maintain1080p/60fps if at all

I'm really excited about the upgrades to the new consoles, I really want them to be competitive again.
Haven't owned a current gen console in forever it feels like, since the Xbox 360.

there is NO 1440 with any of these machines...it's not a mainstream or even supported resolution outside of PC's. It's either 4K or 1080p for console games going forward.

I would be surpised too if I found out M$'s Project Scorpio spec wise and capability wise was going to destroy PS4.5.

While M$ is basically embracing gamers who want to play anywhere whether it be on their couch or sitting in front of a computer while Sony has recently and explicitly said they are trying to prevent Sony customers from making the jump to Pc.

One company is trending up and another is trending down lol and its so surprising because the PS4 is killing the Xbox One when it comes to sales and I suppose attach rates to games.

This is a crazy industry and to think Neo was leaked first and M$ is the one benefiting from this first time mid generation upgrade endeavour.

One company is a software titan, owns the PC market when it comes to OS it was only a matter of time before they combined their console and PC OS to make it work seamless with each other.

The generation where Sony is absolutely thumping M$ is also the shortest one yet...that's gotta sting.

I can almost bet Sony is scrambling to up their specs on Neo but its a little too late to start RnD on something that will compete.

Gears of War 4 is coming to PC with Windows 10, alongside Crackdown 3, Scalebound, Forza and some other games.

They are apart of the Xbox Anywhere initiative.

Xbox Anywhere

Microsoft's are aiming to transcend console generations with PCs and Project Scorpio, a revolutionary move.

Anyway, unfortunately, the more consoles become like PCs, the more likely they software quality will degrade. Fixed hardware makes all the difference, hence games like UC4 destroying 99.9999999% of PC games.

Uncharted 4 is arguably the best looking game ever made, the reason why there are not many PC Games with visuals like it is mostly down to the developers, software, and having hardware available that sets a new benchmark.

Consoles set benchmarks for developers to work with, but the abundance of power available for PCs is hardly pushed to it's limits in multi-platform titles.
Exclusive titles are great subjects for pushing the hardware to it's limits for any platform if that is the intent of the developers.

That's why GPUs like the R9 390X and GTX 970 are able to run the majority of multi-platform titles at 1080p and above with graphical settings near the highest available, along with frame-rates above the console versions.

The introduction of the Scorpio and the Neo will help set a new benchmark for all games, especially multi-platform titles, it's going to be incredible!

No offense, but did you read the article or any other press release on what you're speaking on?

He was surprised they announced it... it being 1.5 years away.

PS360 generation was an oddity, Sony absolutely thumps every one the other generations.

In the PS4 documents it states the specs aren't final and they're considering upgrades at a more premium price.

Sony started the buy once play anywhere feature (admittedly MS brought in the evolution of allowing you to play on PC), this is how a lot of the PS4/Vita/PSP games work.

To others: Ps4 has native KB/M support it's up to the devs to implement its use.
