[Paypal] Steam Summer Sale June 23rd to July 4th - Page 27

Why you do this, Steam?

There has been a growing trend for people to wait for the given flash sales for whatever purchase they want. Im assuming that the flash sales resulted in a considerable amount of requests for refunds as well mark downs from consumers that didnt purchase their software while it was on flash sale. Ultimately this keeps things simpler for consumers and should cut down on the barrage of requests going through Steam customer service.

wrong, Doom is about BOTH. Gameplay and the very very top graphics.

Why cant we can have both when we use to get it? We get that in early doom, we get that in Half-life series, we also get it from crysis 1.

What sort of performance can i expect with Elite Horizons on 1x gtx 580? Main game i get a stable 60 except for the giant space stations.

And is the expansion worth it

It may be about both but it does not represent both. Its all about execution.

Honestly, it shouldn't be much different to the base game, other than planetary landings, there isn't a whole lot different visually (But in stations there are other craft around and movement, which may be why your FPS drops, on planets there seem to be much less traffic, at least per square kilometer). They also did an overhaul of the visual clarity and system toll it takes, refining it in the main 1.6/2.1 patch. So theoretically, it should look better than pre 1.6 and take less resources.

I was adamant on not needing Horizons at the beginning, but with the Engineers updates and the new buffs to weaponry/defences etc, I went with it while it was on Sale recently.

The hardest part is going to be finding the necessary materials, but with the AI buffs, I feel like shooting normal weaponry and having normal shielding just isn't enough, and find myself getting my shields torn down in an instant frequently, since the 1.6 update. So my personal fun levels and enjoying the game was lessened, I'm hoping once I buff my shields and weaponry that I can enjoy the game once again, so whether it's worth it, is completely preferential and down to the individual.

As it's so close to a tenner, and I got the game for around a tenner in the Christmas sale, I personally think it's definitely worth it, as it continually expands the game.
Think Battlefield when Premium was 50% off, and if they allowed Premium to be fixed to your account, instead of Soldier/Platform.

I have made a few purchases ( civ5 and dlc, and the metro series), and am contemplating a zombie survival game. Does anyone have opinions on The Forest, 7days to die and Project Zomboid?

Of the three you have mentioned, I have only played 7dtd. I've got over 600 hours on it and it still holds my interest. TFP have been adding content to it since its alpha release in 2013. Check out my buddy Grand Spartan on YouTube for gameplay footage and how-to's that are to the point...he's got over 2000 hours on it himself. There are also a lot of folks streaming it on Twitch since TTG released it on console the other day.

Thanks for taking the time to reply in depth, EvoBeardy.

After reading some more reviews/updates and videos on youtube, it seems the complaints i had that lead to me uninstalling the game still remain and in some cases have been made worse. That, and half the content for ED:H still isnt released, FDs treatment of their userbase and their handling of Horizons as a standalone, then switching to a season pass DLC with those whod already purchased the base game (again) + Horizons only getting a gold paint job for a single ship...

I just cant support Braben and FD anymore. I really wanted to like this game and see it succeed, but so little has been addressed in the last 2 years or so that is beyond a joke now.

Thanks again.
