Apparently, my previous build is WAY TOO EXPENSIVE and not viable for the hard crowd of OCN who wouldn't ever waste their money in such build 4.5 times more powerful than a PS4 unless it goes for 250$ or lower than said console.

Let me try to fix that.

I still find is cute that you think a 1366 chip has even close to Haswell IPC.

Also, question. How much is shipping?

The new low-end cards (in particular from AMD) are going to shake the market up anyway, so this whole argument is moot.

If you're on such a tight budget, and you're only interest is in a gaming platform then it's probably best to pick up a console, as the latest games will work for the life of it's cycle. You also get access to first-party titles from the manufacturer. If it's about more than just games then the ridiculously locked down consoles aren't even worth bringing up.. Mods (Bethesda's console jokes don't count), free online, etcetera are also worth bringing up, but still not worth the hassle of trying to build a cheap PC imo..

However, if you have a budget of $600 + i'd easily recommend PC. I think Sony and Micro know that, which explains their new "premium" consoles... they probably have a lot of data convincing them to go this route. But as i said, low-budget cards have been terrible the last few years, hopefully the new ones shake things up a bit. thumb.gif

House said that one of the key motivations for PlayStation 4 Neo was specifically to prevent high-end users from abandoning the product at an earlier point than its natural eight-year lifespan. “We’ve traditionally seen that some of the core audience tends to gravitate back to high-end PCs at some point because these are the people who want the finest graphical performance,” he said. “So here’s a great opportunity to have them stay within our ecosystem.

The monster I listed above will do everything, not only gaming, with it's quad core Haswell like IPC capable of 4.5GHz and 4GHz with ease, while greatly outperforming even the next gen PS4 NEO.

PCs will also come cheaper even if this costed 900$, you can buy Skyrim for 5$, Mortal Kombat X for 2$, Dragon's Age Inquisition for 7$, and every game that's older than 4 months for less than 9$, which is incredible considering that after 4 months is the only time games are actually polished enough to be considered worthy of our time and money.

I have games that are worth over 3000$ in my steam library if they were released on console, I'm pretty sure I've spent less than 400$ for those games, I've never bought a full priced game before, except for Overwatch and World of Warcraftm but those are everyone's exception thumb.gif
