This^.

belch...

Battlefield 2142 is nothing by todays standards, nor BF2... but both will show off what a player has, or is missing.

It is incredible how ignorant people are today, don't even know why they like certain games, or even able to discern their genre. Matter of fact, most Gamers today were not drawn to these games....  they have been born into them, as game commercials today are everywhere & have star actors in them. (You didn't see this 15 years ago.)

So most (gamers) are just following the masses and probably play mobile strike and other garbage like that too. Ironically, younger players today are not PLAYING these games, they are "trying" them. As these younger genlings are programed not to stick with anything, or own anything. Just consume... and high five their lemming friends.

Thus, most of their gameplay is one of passing time, and for entertainment or relaxation. Where as the "older crowd" played to compete and the challenge these games presented, or for the sport of it, etc. Subsequently, "older people" have the means to entertain themselves is many ways... & they are not resorting to inside events that cost peanuts per year to play, because they are limited.

Mentality.

Battlefield 1 @ $79 per account....  brings in a different crowd than BF1 @ $150 for an account. The higher up you go in price, the more people start looking past the graphics and at the platform itself.

The ideology is, if you have to INVEST MORE into your game account, it is because you have something at stake.  ergo: When you are conditioned as a throw away buyer & always looking for the next thing, you never have anything at stake. (ie: too risky if they are not a good player, or get caught cheating, etc or have to put the game down).

I mean right...?  Didn't you (not you) just buy a game on a whim from steam, for $12 bucks..? And last month, didn't you buy 2 games during the summer sale... that you've been waiting on, and you grabbed one for $15, when everyone else last year paid $49.

Daddy...  why is battlefield $50 more than discounted games on steam..?

Xbox is growing up...

Scorpio is for the competitive gamer, not for those who play Nintendo..

Let's hope devs actually use the full capabilities of this.

Going by "teraflops" it should be slightly better than the 980Ti, but counting that it's also a future architecture it should be more than a bit better.

What Xbox needs are good developers making good exclusives. Don't try to impress with specs when the games are simply not there. I'm not getting consoles to play cross platform titles..

This is something I've always said. Xbox doesn't have the games or exclusives that the PS4 has and IMHO I've always seen the Playstation as the "Grown up" console. That's not to be derogatory to XBox users but it is the multiplayer online game crowd and it's sexism, homophobia, racism that drags the Xbox down. I loved playing Gears of War and Halo on the 360 but never online, since those games have gone down the swany since the BX1's release I don't see a point in buying one. Not when I can have Heavy rain, Beyond 2 souls, Last of us, Uncharted, Infamous, Bloodborne, Detroit, Horizon zero dawn .. it might just be because the PS4 has such great Single-player narrative driven exlusives that push the system and it's graphical capabilities whereas the XB1 needs higher framerate for it's faster-paced online PvP-esque games.

There is a definite line between who the two consoles cater to. PS4 gets less FPS / TPS games and the XB1 gets less Puzzle solving, slow paced games. Doesn't matter the hardware they bring out for the new Xbox, in the end if it doesn't have exclusive games that tailor to their ADD PvP ish crowd then no one will buy them, especially if the PC is getting the games too thanks to UWP.

This. Plus the amount Sony will sell bundled with the Neo and all the console gamers wanting to play 4k games, ive seen 4k TV for less then £300 and i personally think they will be a big boom next year with the 4k consoles release.

I certainly hope demanding games won't run native 3840x2160. I'm hoping for upscaled 1080p with 60 fps. It will also be easy to make it work on 1080p TV's this way.

There's no point in that. May as well label them as 1080p,upscaling does not hold a candle to real 4K and it's not even necessary for the game to upscale since most TV's already do it.

you cant go by teraflops if it has a Polaris10 in it

980Ti >> RX480(5.8-5.9 TFlops)

cant compare Nvidia TFlops to AMD TFlops
