[Gamespot] Project Scorpio Is 4.5X as Powerful as Xbox One, Phil Spencer Says - Page 25

I read through this whole thread... and this console vs PC argument going on was lame as hell.

All I want to say is we all know PC graphics have been held back because the "big" game releases being developed to run on weak powered consoles with out dated hardware. This release of increased powered consoles could have been a good thing enabling developers to push for technically better graphics but instead they are going to be stuck achieving the same level or maybe even worse graphics trying to making it run 30 fps @ 4k.

They should have set it 1080p standard and reach for better graphic capabilities. PC gamers could give a ***** about 4k on console. We've been running 1440p and higher and at better frame rates for years. Why don't you make higher quality graphics and show us something we haven't seen.

If I am not mistaken Sony is setting their standard on Neo to 1080p/60fps, Microsoft I think is doing the same thing.

If that is the case, these new consoles are nothing but good news for PC gamers.... However, if they are shooting for 4k gaming we won't really see any advancements.

With Xboxone and ps4, they bet on the present for hardware. WIth Project scorpio and ps 4neo,i think they moved forward and bet on the future.
I think they bet on a competition with pc with a lighter os and Apu and gpu faster respons times due to architectur...good Bandwitdht+good architecture+light os might take advantage on pc...

but they already have a probleme : they didn't bet on SSD for calcul, could be fatal on 4K mad.gif

I'd take 1080p 60 fps any day of the week. Even tho I got a 4K HDR TV.

There's no way Scorpio will do native 4K with 30 fps in demanding games. It would take more than 4 times the power of the current Xbox One (since most games are 900p). Not gonna happen.
