It is also cheaper (and if the shape is popular, safer) to take preexisting designs and modify it, rather than creating entirely new shells, like Logitech.

Unique id costs more.

I don't just mean the shape, I mean they look like literally the same mouse made by the same company. Are people stealing designs, or is there one company licensing the design to everyone else, or what?

ODM , in this case more OEM , there are not sooo many Factorys , ...

They aren't made by the same company I don't think. I actually don't know who actually made the steelseries sensei and xai and stuff, but I don't think steelseries does their own manufacturing. OEMs just copy popular shapes. Also most of the larger companies either design their own shapes or pay the OEM to design it with an agreement others won't be able to use it or something. I don't actually know the details. Many smaller companies especially when they are starting out just use a shell the OEM already had and was using. For example Dream Machines, Final mouse, Ninox, I believe xtrfy and mionix, and quite a few others simply used shapes the manufacturer already had. Its not really 100% clear to me if this is an entirely OEM shell, a slightly modified one, or something they designed/had designed. It is somewhat different than OEM sensei like shells I've seen as far as the indent around the mouse wheel and the dpi button shape.

yea , but overall nearly same OEM Design ... just a bit modified ... and why this shape? coz it's popular / famous ...

Having trouble deciding between this mouse and the G303. My hands are around 17cm from base to end of middle finger and I use palm grip. I would rather buy this mouse because of the safer shape but I am afraid of click latency and poor build quality that I know the G303 doesn't have(I don't mind the sensor rattle). So can anyone help me choose?
