Upgrade Advice

Thread Starter
I am planning to buy a GTX 1070 to upgrade my GTX 770 when they become available. I've been using multimedia rendering applications more recently and my available RAM is holding back my work flow. I want to purchase another 8GB. Does it make sense to upgrade the ram even though its not ddr3? It looks like the price is quite cheap which is nice.. I just want some longevity out of the system.

Does anyone have any insight, realistically I should be still quite fine using a GTX 1070, Haswell processor, 16GB 2133MHZ DDR3 Ram? My i7 4770k is at 4.7Ghz.

What do you mean the ram is not ddr3, what is it ?

I think it's a typo, OP meant: 'Is it worth upgrading to DDR4 memory?' Nowadays DDR4 memory is pretty cheap so it's probably worth it that you get 16GB 2x8(2400MHz or higher) 32GB if you need to.
