My Korean 1440p monitors only have DVI connectors. They are only 60Hz though so I should be good with hdmi-DVI adapters?

Saphire is what i have always bought gpu wise. Want to try gigabyte since imo they make the best mobo's.

Gigabyte kinda annoyed me by voltage locking my 270Xs. I'm fairly certain they'd hit 1200-1250Mhz if I could crank up the voltage, but as is I can't get anything over stock. It is a midrange card, but still.

If I do get a 480, it'll probably be a Sapphire Nitro or something; my Sapphire 7950 was awesome (other than the reference cooler, at least, though I could still bench at some pretty high voltages if I ignored the noise).

Seen a pic of the cooler disassembled on SA (supposedly sourced form chiphell). Its a simple aluminum heatsink with a copper core. Does not look like a VC cooler. Looks like an Intel stock HSF with linear fins.

As pointed out by another user, the PCB has a DVI connection, its just whether or not AIBs want to add DVI. So wait and see you might be able to get a card with a DVI connector.

I've owned MSI, Sapphire and Gigabyte. I might buy a XFX ref card just to try it out and then sell it down the line and get a custom pcb.

Guys Sapphire seems the only one for Amd to cool the vrms

The others just don't cut it

MsI xfx asus etc tried them all for 390x

Then Sapphire it is. 390X has a lot more TPD, though. My Twin Frozer 7950 cools quite good. The vrms are cooler than the core. So, the 390X might not be a good reference.

But to be safe on the ones with 8+6 pin . . . Sapphire or better yet - block it. In previous gens, the reference were the go-to for watercooling.

Actually they all cool VRMs just depends how well they do it. Reference blower style coolers dont tend to cool VRMs too well just simple physics. As far reference manufacturers with blowers it doesnt matter they are pretty much all identical probably even all use the same fan. Long live Armenia thumb.gif

Im just hoping ekwb or other manufacturers make waterblocks for custom pcbs though. THe r9 390/x only had reference and msi that was it. When xfx changed their board design people got screwed.

Its why im on the edge about buying an ekwb for my gpu, they seem to LOVE nvidia and make a block for literally every single 980ti/1070/1080 that comes out but for AMD its just reference because supposedly theres no demand lol. If you check the net though everyone wants it.
