But as for 3.5mm TRS itself, there are smaller 2.5mm jacks, Apple has a proprietary jack that is a D shape instead of circular, and the TRRS is better anyway and sort of superseded TRS since it can carry a video signal as well as the two analog signals, or stereo audio out and a mic in. I know all this is pretty much mostly a technicality since it pretty much uses the exact same format, but it is a newer format version and it did supersede the standard 3.5mm TRS. Just thought Id toss that out there since so many people are arguing connectors and what you said *technically* isn't true.

Right but apple proprietary means no one else in the world is going to use it and if they do they'll get sued haha.

And yes i meant rca coax, the orange plug that some cards/receivers still use. The truth part is, we pretty much dont need video when using an audio signal obviously and that connector already exists in the form of hdmi/mini hdmi/minidp lol.

Just apple being apple, they just want thinner phones so need a thinner connector lol. Yea thats what i want a phone that if dropped once destroys itself by being thinner garbage lol.

Next thing people will demand XLR and optical audio on RX 480 lol

As far as Apple goes, they never heard of wireless audio? Tiny connectors are easy to make if you want a proprietary crap that no one will or could support. But then comes the chinese convertor from eBay for $1 that makes it compatible back with 3.5mm jack and it's back worse than it even started biggrin.gif

I would doubt it. Windows XP was moved to legacy status for AMD drivers years ago.

On a side note, I would suggest that any prospective shopper who is thinking, "I'm going to spend $250 for an 8 GB RX 480!" should adjust their plans to "I'm going to spend $90 for a copy of Windows 10 because I'm not an unreasonable consumer who demands an operating system receive market support for over fifteen years before my investment feels adequately repaid."

Is it just be more does anyone else not care about seeing reference cards or said cardboard boxes? They could be 280's or plastic demos with wood screws still wouldn't excite me. Are there any threads showing cards that people will actually be buying? I can't imagine the base models are going to be the top sellers.

Videocardz posted a rumor 2 article. Theres someone with at least 20 rx480s on a table lol. Supposedly theyre going to use em in prebuilt system as well so im guessing they are making the reference pcb on a massive scale.

I might pull the plug on a reference board as for wtv reason no one ends up making waterblocks for custom amd pcbs. Ekwb sucks in this regard they seem to really side with nvidia (guess they have a contract with evga and msi now)

Well, I guess a DVI port for a 60hz+ 1440p Korean monitor is moot anyway, since the RX 480 will handle that resolution and framerate like a potato (unless you're OK with medium settings).
