I'd consider learning what mainstream means before saying "false".

You do know that most people in the first place use either dvi or displayport right? Hdmi 1.3/1.4 has no where near the bandwidth to drive 1080p 144hz or freesync or 1440p at anything above 60hz.

Its not the maintstream part its the technical part. On the maintstream average person who uses intel on board graphics yea theyre going to use hdmi or gaming on your tv. But for most gamers who are going to buy this card for high performance its either dp or dvi for old monitors.

You will see someone will figure out on how to output HDR over HDMI sooner or later. Mainstream market is more important than niche, proof is that there are already 4K TV's with HDR and 10 bit panels, meanwhile where are the 4K HDR monitors at? wink.gif

DVI and DP are both widely used for PC monitors. HDMI is more of an entertainment standard.

Yes, yes, I know there are adapters, but when the vast majority of the people will be using DVI anyway it makes little sense to exclude it.

Na, it should have been 1 DVI, 1 mini-DP, and 1 HDMI. That would all fit in 1 slot size and allow the card to connect to any monitor out there biggrin.gif

So HDMI is indeed the mainstream connector after all.

For gaming on your tv yea, not too many maintstream PC gamers do that though especially with high refresh rate monitors and 1440p. If you wanted to game a measly 30fps 1080p why not stick to consoles lol.

Since when 1440p is mainstream? Since when is high refresh rate?

Once again,do you know what mainstream means? I don't think so.

Try again, i own a ps3 and ps4. I still have an NES and Super Nintendo that work. What pc master race lol.

Theres a difference between mainstream typical window users and actual mainstream gamers. Yes most people play at 1080p/60. But even if you get a 75hz+ monitor hdmi can't handle anything above 75hz.

Why do people there was a need for hdmi 2.0 if HDMI is so all mighty and powerful for mainstream. I mean come on lol.

HDMI 1.4 can do 3840x2160 at 30 Hz and i myself have toyed with my monitor clocking it at 74 Hz so much for HDMI can't handle anything over 60 Hz LMAO

Exactly 30hz for 4k is pointless, hence why HDMI 2.0 came out, if they didn't need it they wouldn't do it. And that was a typo meant over 75hz. I tried it on my ultrawide and got nothing but flicker.
