You're barely an adult on paper and you're immature as hell so you're still a kid in most people's eyes. Maybe you should consider growing up before you bash people for their gaming preferences.

Ugh, stupid Nintendo. At least get a screen on the next handheld that has a decent screen. If the New 3DS had doubled the screen resolution I would have bought it for sure.

I will be picking up the NX just like I have every other Nintendo console. I don't buy Nintendo games for their graphics, I buy them for their content and their local multiplayer. While all other developers have moved on to exclusive online multiplayer Nintendo has stuck to it's roots of being able to gather a group of friends/family around the living room TV. Whenever I have a few friends over nobody wants to get out the Xbox or PS4 and play a few rounds of COD or Forza (even though we all enjoy those game) we get out the Wii U for a few rounds of Mario Kart or Super Smash Bros. As long as the NX can put out 1080p graphics as 60 fps with their cartoony games it will do fine. I've never heard of anybody that actually played multi-platform games on their Nintendo consoles, I don't know why they even both porting them over.

The reason Nintendo has been going downhill lately is because they are focusing on the wrong things. The stupid tablet controller that inflated the cost of the Wii U, the Amiibos or whatever the hell they are called and other gimmicky hardware. The need to go back to making good games that draw people together. They have completely ruined Mario Party which was the Nintendo staple. At least Mario Kart and Super Smash Bros were excellent but they simply don't have the lineup of good exclusive games like they use to. Nintendo hardware is and always will be bought for it's software. They just need to focus on making really good games again and the hardware will sell itself.

What's worse is the "New" 3DS has the potential of giving you a crappy TN for the upper screen, and if you're lucky you get the IPS one. It might actually even be the case that all the newer batches have the TN now. So you pay the same for the system as the other guy, but he may get the nicer screen and you get garbage, nice one Nintendo, nice one.

i actually disagree about amiibos. It allowed nintendo to make a lot of profit. In a sense, its best to picture amiibo as physical versions of dlc that can be used across different games. Physical DLC > digital DLC.

The reason mario party was ruined was hudson went bankrupt. Hudson produced every mario party game from 1-8. Hudson disappeared in 2012, which coincidentally caused the crapness of the cart system.

Nintendo has the best first-party games, but I think the last generation showed that it's pretty difficult for a console to succeed if late first party are the only decent games for it. The Wii U has some good games now, but it took years for those good games to release, and the console suffered for it. The 3DS had the same problem; it outsold the Vita, sure, but it took 2-3 years for really compelling games to come out.

I'm not sure if huge amounts of processing power are going to fix the problem (though it certainly wouldn't hurt; the Wii U and N3DS are so underpowered it's sad). What Nintendo really needs to do, IMHO, is fix their relationships with third-party developers/publishers, make it easier to develop and publish for their systems (they're improving, but they're still far behind MS and Sony in that respect), and I think most importantly, ease up on the damn gimmicks.

Innovation is all well and good, and a unique experience really differentiates your system from everyone else's, but N's innovations of late don't seem to be helping them a whole lot. The motion controls made a lot of games a pain on the Wii, and the Wii U's gamepad, while a cool idea, is rarely if ever used well (at least, if reviews are to be believed). It was the same for the DS's second screen, which was used for pretty much nothing but crappy touch-based mini games for years, though thankfully that's no longer the case.

I think the big problem is that Nintendo really pushes their gimmicks too much. I can see wanting to avoid the Kinect problem where games don't use a feature because no one has it, but there's a happy medium between no innovation and forcing shooters to use motion controls. The Wii's controls were great for some games, and the Wii U's gamepad is a really cool idea that could be very good in some situations; but forcing all games to use sometimes-useful features at all times rather than only when they actually improve the experience is something that's really turned me off of Nintendo's home consoles.

I think the best case for the NX would be performance somewhere between the XB1 and PS4, with a mostly traditional controller that has a small touchscreen & gyro, and a solid launch lineup of at least 2 or 3 games that use those features well. Alternatively, they could do something like make the controller the handheld, so you can play on-the-go or sync to the main console to play on the big screen; as long as they can both keep the price reasonable and not repeat the 3DS's fairly terrible hardware specs.

Tbh the NX could run on a potato and I'll still buy one to play Zelda on. Hell, WW on the ancient GC is still a beautiful game.

Yup, the reason I decided to not get a 3DS XL and support their screen shenanigans. Which sucks for both me and Nintendo, because I was looking forward to trying out tons of their games.

To be perfectly honest, there are very few Nintendo IPs that I'm interested in enough to buy a console strictly for them. I don't know, I grew up, Nintendo didn't. So now I play PC games and cross platform games. Plus I still have the awful taste of their mass shovelware titles like Super Money Ball in my mouth.
Hay! Super Monkey Ball was one of the last unique games that Sega ever came up with, it was a fun take on the platformer. Maybe they tried to re-sell the same premise too many times over the years, but Super Monkey Ball is a solid game.
