I got an XB270HU on Newegg last week for 570. I initially got it following reviews that it was a great IPS panel.
It turns out there is a TN version, subtly in the full model being an Acer XB270HU Abprz vs bprz.
Anyways I did a check and found 3 dead pixels.
1 can be seen from a few inches away. If black background it appears blue. If blue background it appears black.
Another can only been seen on black background and its white, but smaller than the other. Which is odd as I thought the previous was just 1 pixel. Seeing this smaller than the other is either a trick of the light or perhaps 4 dead pixels in a grouping?
The last is close to the 2nd and only visible in black as well and from point blank, at a certain angle.
Initially I was upset as that is quite a lot I paid, way more than any other single component in a PC before.
Then on Sunday I had an issue where lower left had a spot where the backlight wasnt on and had a shadow go up about one inch. I came home from work on Monday and it was gone.
With these issues I was debating to exchange for another or return it and wait to see if Newegg does another shell shocker on the Dell S2716DG (theyve had 2 in the last 30 days) for $480.
An extra input sounds nice for consoles but then I've read some complaints about a buzzing sounds. I'll need to check the Acer but I haven't encountered any buzzing.
Also newegg has the Acer as non HDCP. Ill need to check as I dont often watch protected videos, so it may not be an issue. However I've now read the Dell claims to be hdcp compliant but many people are experiencing otherwise.

Anyone have any opinion? I can barely find references to this XB270HU as a TN, which makes me think I'll also have trouble getting assistance from Acer in the future. I checked their main site and they don't even mention its existence there either, just points back to the IPS bprz model.
