Sound Purity is the name of the driver they use. the actual chip they use is different and is probably a realtek model, look up your motherboard model and look at the sound specs and it should tell you the sound chipset used. Like my asus z170 deluxe has a Realtek ALC1150 base chipset but asus has also added more caps to boost quality and power. all depends on the board though. from a quick google search your board is running a ALC1150 aswell but it is set to 7.1 channel over the 8 channel mine runs in according to newegg. regardless looking at the board it does look pretty solid, there are quite a few dedicated audio caps so really you shouldnt have a single issue using it unless you have interference issues.

I'm looking for speakers at the moment no idea what is good or bad, I'm new to all this it's my first build.

Seems about the same as my MSI board has, Nichicon is good stuff. Onboard audio really has come a long way.

As far as speakers i really can't tell you, audio is so personal i wouldnt know where to start. Ive got a klipsh 7.1 system sitting in storage (no room), with a velodyne 12in sub. For my pc im using crappy logitech speakers and i can tell the difference.

Its why i love my sony headphones make gaming so much more pleasurable.

Thats totally fine man haha. we are here to help. its the whole point of a forum, yea your boards audio setup is super solid and the amp features listed there werent even on newegg's listing. Thats a super solid overall sound setup Asrock has included and unless you are running some omega powered couple thousand dollar headphones you wont have or see any issues. I run a 5.1 logitech setup with a 8in sub and its super solid, im actually have issues with logitechs wires though, damn thin cables and damn their crappy warranty. and when i game i use a usb razer kracken 7.1 that im super happy with aswell. No matter what you really run man, unless its ungodly high end you will be super satisfied with your overall audio experience with that board and leaving out your sound card wont affect you in any way,

Thanks:) lol! So I want to stay away from Logitech unless it's possible to use better wire/cables with them. Going to google the razer kracken 7.1 you speak of may learn something else.
But awesome guess my decision is made then! I'm definitely not going with some super power crazy expensive headphones. Im one of those who don't really care for headph's.

Im happy with the speakers i have, ive honestly had them for 6 years now, they have been through 2 moves also so i think they lived out their loves for the 99$ i spent on them. But i mainly use a headset and my razer kracken 7.1's have been awesome. 2 years and no issues or wear aside from the ear cup foam separating the leather seam and it has honestly made them more comfy.

Yes you can put a pci-e 1x card into a pci-e 16x slot. It will work fine.

Why are people here implying to physically cut a card apart here to make it fit? W T F.

It's part of the pci-e spec to allow inserting different width cards into different width slots. You can plug a pci-e 16x card into an (open-ended) pci-e 1x slot, or a pci-e 1x card into a pci-e 16x slot, and everything in between. If it fits, it works. Thats how PCI-E works. If you've ever seen an open-ended pci-e slot, thats why.
