Watercooling an XFX R9 390

Thread Starter
I hear that EK's 290 waterblocks aren't cross compatible with the xfx 390. Do I need to use a universal GPU block?

Try checking this thread http://www.overclock.net/t/1569032/xfx-r9-390-dd-removed-from-the-ek-fc-r9-290x-v2-ca-cooling-configurator

I was able to use my 290x blocks on my 390x XFX but i got the model R9-390X-8VR6

Hopefully it will give you some help.

How much would cost you to get the waterblock? Or do you already own it? Because it might be a better choice to get a rx 480 which seem to perform better and costs 200usd

Yeah, i kind of assumed he owned the blocks already by his statement i guess it depends on what he has on hand..
