AIOs Why they should only be considered a short term product. - Page 15

The AIOs I am using so far are the Antec Kuhler and NZXT Krakens which are not permanent solutions because I am aware of their life/risks - more as a starting point so I can build up the guts to build a full custom loop in the near future similar to the awesome ones that some OCN members have built. thumb.gif
I hear you on the custom loop, That was my original intentions to create one lol but as you see 8 years later LOL, oh well...

All he cared about was two things - Minecraft with no "lagging", and watercooled like my old PC...literally all he wanted. There are a ton of other reasons to use a CLC as well, but I don't think listing them out for you is going to change anything...since I am sure you can think of them all on your own if you really wanted to. Anyway...agree to disagree, or whatever...my fault for entering this section of the forums.

But you're completely missing the BUDGET side of things.

A $400 budget is quite good for a 12 year old but no way you're putting together even a CPU loop without blowing that budget. I don't care if you buy a Swiftech AIO loop or decided to cobble that loop together with used parts. It's just not going to happen. wink.gif

In these types of threads I can't decide which side is more amusing, the one "defending" CLC's or the one "attacking" such cooling systems... hurt egos and high horses and lots of projecting? If it cools, it cools. Air, AIO, CLC, custom, they all have their niches, they all have their shortcomings, yet people like to talk for everyone with the weight of their own opinion, but that's only a single person's worth of perspective. Really, this is getting a bit ridiculous, isn't it?

On the other hand, I simply cannot wait to see who's going to mention something about the CLC in my signature with something irrelevant on top.

What a bunch of clowns.

By the way the whole thread is completely pointless.

For example ID-Cooling Frostflow 240L seems to be one great CLC, even quieter and as performance goes, on par with Swiftech H220-X AIO

http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/id-cooling-frostflow-240l-closed-loop-liquid-cpu-cooler,4371-2.html

Great to see some new CLC's upping their game. I'm waiting for EVGA and BeQuiet ones...

First off, it's not the 'manufacturer' you deal with. It's the company who puts their name on it.wink.gif

Secondly, it appears you have never tried to get a clc damaged system replaced. Even if you do succeed in getting it replaced, it litterally takes have a year, sometimes more time spend dealing with the aggravation, procrastination, lies, having to keep impecable ducmentation of everything that is happening, having to threaten to go to higher authorities with the documentatin, etc. to get anything accomplished. Many who have gone through it say it is the worst experience of their lives and they will never do it again.

And all this time newer components are coming out (GPUs), the one that was damaged and sent in depreciates becomes lower and lower priced, and if it's your only system you have nothing to use during this time and had to spend money to replace it so you have a function system..

wait, are you saying its a pain in the ass to RMA GPUs that come with CLC, when the CLC is what failed? that just seems obscene, if so. GPU RMA is a GPU RMA. This is why i'm an EVGA fanboy, not an AMD or NV fanboy, but an EVGA fanboy. tongue.gif

buying an add-on CLC for a GPU is stupid. just flat out stupid. you should definitely take the jump to your first custom loop if you want to WC a card that DID NOT COME WITH A COOLER ALREADY ATTACHED FROM THE FACTORY.

Its not pointless at all.

One of the main reasons some people are trying very hard to discourage the use of certain AIO's(most of them CLC's) is because they're pretty poor products and they have barely advanced at all over the years. And both the industry as a lot of consumers have settled on this nonsense being okay.

If even a part of the the consumer base becomes aware of this and stops buying CLC's things will change. So yes, being vocal about this is important.

And the ones defending the likes of Asetek and the companies selling their products(Corsair etc). I don't know whats wrong with them its almost as if they like getting shafted.

Do we have any hybrid tower / CLC cooler solutions, I'd love to see the arguments on that lol

You are ranting on like a spoiled 5 year old throwing a tantrum. Chill out before you have heart attack. helpinghand.gif
I'm talking about a CLC mounted on a CPU leaking and damaging the system, namely the GPU.

My H100i is working on 3 years old. Computer's on 16+ hours a day, 7 days a week and it's showing no signs of performance loss. As long I get 5 years (the warranty) out of it without having to worry about silly things like changing out coolant I'm good. Looks good too.

I have an H50 that's been running 247 on a mild OC. I purchased it when they were first introduced. That's like 7 or 8 years, it still runs like a champ
