New AM3+ board till zen - Page 2

If I were in your shoes I would try to get the Asus 970 Aura when it goes on sale or has a temporary price drop and just call it a day. The peace of mind and the little extra features are worth it as it should keep your system going for at least a year until you are ready to go full steam ahead with Zen thumb.gif

Really looking at just grabbing an i5 and calling it a day on the cpu front. I feel like it might be pointless though.

i really like my gigabyte 990 gaming, but it did take me quite a while to get the bios down. i run my 8350 at 4.4 with it. my 120mm aio cooler can handle up to a 4.6, but i hate the sound of the fan speeds i need to run it at those volts. i really don't remember what my voltages are set to or peak at since its been a while.

if you are planning on keeping this build or using the board/cpu still after getting zen as a secondary set up or htpc i think it is worth it. otherwise idk

if you want more accurate numbers i can grab them
