Time to get a new pump?

Recently my DDC 3.25 pump has been failing to start during cold boots. Just sits there and tries to spin , sometimes to get it working, I will have to turn the PSU off completely. Once it does spin up it runs without issue.
It's connected to an Aquaero, is it time to replace the pump?

I don't own a water cooling system but a friend of mine have one and I remember he had the same issue with his pump, everytime he turned the PSU off and on again the pump would work without issue, it lasted for a few months like that then the pump died, btw he didn't tried to change the PSU as we thought that wasn't the issue and when he got a new pump everything was working like it should.

I really don't know what was the issue with the pump or anything, like I said I'm not into watercooling so I hope someone else can help you with the issue but from my personal experience you should start thinking in buying a new pump, hope it helps!

Is it PWM with any controller on it tied to a temp sensor on the Aquaero? How old is the pump, and one last thing did it ever run dry even for a few seconds?

I have a mcp35x if your looking to replace it. It has pwm. Doesn't have many hours on it

It's not a pwm just connected directly to the first channel on the aquaero. It probably has run dry for a few seconds a long time ago can't really remember when. 😀 I believe the pump is a few years old. I took it apart last night and noticed it had grease all over the circuit board. It was covering the solder points to the wires. Any idea how it got there? Nothing ever spilled on the pump, I'm at a lost. Needless to say I've cleaned it up and it seems better now. We'll see how long it lasts. 😭
