[Solved] Need Help in Extending System Partition.

So, I want to extend my drive C: partition which has Windows installed on it. I have made an Unallocated Space for the extension, but when I right click drive C, the "Extend volume" option is grayed out.

I've read that if there are other partitions between the drive you want to extend and the unallocated space, you cannot extend it. Is this true because I have one partition in between which contains many important files, I do not want to format it, is there any third party software which can solve the problem?

Thank you.

Are you wanting to undo your separation of the partition? Just keep in mind when your separating partitions like that, you slice a piece of pie, once you cut it ( only in a C / master boot drive) you cannot undo it unless ( correct me if I'm wrong,) you need a special tool that'll allow you to combine them back. From my experience the best way to recombine them is to reload your PC ( if you have the CD's) and delete that certain partition to make sure that its set as a whole if that makes sense.

Once again if any information is wrong please correct me.

You can actually make partition, recombine them easily with the inbuilt "Disk Management".

I only make partition for my system drive (drive C:) incase something goes wrong with Windows and have to format the drive.

My problem here is, I installed Windows on a 500GB HDD which is separated into two partitions. One partition for windows only, I can play with the other partition as I like but I can't with the drive C partition, it won't allow me to extend it with a small partition cut out from the other one.

I see, Yeah your best way would honestly be,back up and reload that bad boy and not limit your OS with a certain size of a partition just in case if it needs to expand a certain amount onto it. Makes it more difficult to do things and easier just to have one large lump vs different partitions, Like if the drive ends up going bad, or viruses. Bestthing to do is wipe the whole thing and start new. What you could do is use like an Acronis type program then basically copy paste it and viola, done

Managed to solve the problem with a program called Easus Partition Master. I had to move the Unallocated Space just next to drive C which was located next to the other partition F before. Easus Partition Master have a feature to do this.
