[TV] Microsoft Shows How Bad Chrome is For Your Laptop's Battery. (VIDEO) - Page 7

I only use chrome to play slither.io because it runs better in chrome.

I don't use chrome for anything else at all.

The plugins on chrome never work right... and the scaling always introduce a ton blurring.

The only time this has actually happened to me was on a work PC, where the Admins had something set up which restored the PC to a particular state at the end of the day. thumb.gif

You can call it whatever you like biggrin.gif This was like more than 1 year ago. I wouldn't remember which version chrome was, but it was definitely renewing the missing shortcut on each restart. Maybe it was a bug and they fixed it, but I wasn't willing to reinstall if it was, when firefox was around. This was on windows 8 I believe. Maybe it was about windows, frankly I never liked chrome for some reason, it was more than enough to switch to firefox biggrin.gif

Or, you're simply remembering wrong. Even a year ago it did no such thing. It has never done such a thing.

I love how people who don't use something can come up with completely unprovable things and say "nah man, it totally happened, but it was a really long time ago, no one else can verify it, and I've never used it since... But it certainly 100% happened to me once and so it's a reason to not use it".

I must be confused. What blurring? The OCN logo is an image, it can't scale infinitely like text can.

If it wasn't 1 year ago, it was 2 or 3. It doesn't matter as you can not disprove what I experienced and I don't have to prove anything to you. It happened even thou reinstalling a few times. As I said maybe it was about windows 8 vs Chrome. I did not investigate and as I also said, firefox was around and did not give me any headaches.

In the end, it doesn't matter if you believe me or not, but you should clearly know, a bug may not happen on all the machines. I only wonder why you are saying something NEVER happened because you did not experienced it.

Really unless you are gaming on the thing, the cord should not be plugged in. Otherwise it isn't much of a portable device. I know when living out of a hotel for work, last thing I like is wires running all over my bed.

I thought it was common knowledge that Chrome was a resource hog that is constantly performing a wide variety of background processes that are unrelated to your web browsing. If you have a Gmail account Chrome will do a check for new emails about every 30 seconds. If you have a Youtube account Chrome will automatically monitor it for any activity. Chrome checks every Google related account you have at all times.

Try this one.

With Chrome closed go to your Task Manager and go to the Processes tab. Make sure there are no instances of Chrome.exe actively running.

Now open Chrome with just a single tab open. Go to Google.com if it doesn't take you there automatically.

Now check to see how many instances of Chrome.exe are running in your Processes. I'll bet it's not just 1, is it? And I'll bet that GoogleUpdate is also running as well.

That's the point isn't it. It happened to me and it's gone biggrin.gif Check 2 posts above yours (#63) Looks like I wasn't alone. Still it doesn't mean it happens to everyone. I also used chrome on multiple machines and only 1 did it which I frequently used. (not my personal computer)

Firefox has auto update as well, however I never feel it whatever or however it hogs the system. Chrome's was more apparent. I'm not always inclined to solve so little things like icons re-appearing so I went with the competition. Frankly I never compared edge chrome and firefox, feature per feature. I just use one until I'm bored or bothered by something. Whatever works.

I have 1 flash video playing (iplayer) yet have two copies of flashplayerplugin running. Steam is open and I have two copies of steamwebhelper running. Spotify and Comodo Dragon aren't running and I have dragon_updater and Spotifywebhelper running.

If I launch Comodo (a Chrome fork I think) I get 11 dragons (...no lollygagging tongue.gif )...does that mean it's phoning google + world + dog?

Been using the 64 bit version of FF for a while now. It doesn't support all the add ons but it's good enough for me. If edge supported add ons and the like I'd try it. As it is, nope.
