Single 980ti for 7680x1440?

I'm in the process of getting a 980ti for a triple monitor setup. I know one of these is not optimized for that resolution but until I get a second card in the future, do you think I should be able to get around 40fps on med-high setting with most games?
Monitors will be run at 60hz until a second card can be purchased.

1 should be okay, triple monitor gaming isn't fun for a daily driver. yeah it's fun to show off but using it daily gets old.

I've ran 3 monitors for years now and I enjoy it. Some games are better than others of course. Additionally the extra monitors are used for productivity but I'm not concerned with that when it comes to a card. I'm just looking to get decent gameplay out of it for a bit to start.

Could have swear I read that Pascal have new technology implemented to make them superior in multiple monitor set-ups. So I would recommend getting 1070s instead if you are going for that.

From what I read briefly on that second post is that it is utilized predominately for VR and also "Nvidia’s drivers don’t include the functionality right now, but it, along with pixel-level preemption, should be accessible through the driver soon."

I will have to actually give them a good read later when I have the time. Thanks

I was talking about surround, not just having 3 monitors lol.
