There have been more posters complaining about complainers than actual complainers.

I'm really hoping the blower style reference cards are $229 like the MSRP states and maybe $249-259-269 for custom cards... This may in-fact be a very good counter in price against Nvidia's GTX970 and GTX980 owners that are looking for alot less power hungry chips... I myself am looking for just that with a 450w SFX PSU...

normally, the usual non-ref cards are only $20~$30 away from the MSRP, so you're good to go. thumb.gif
the only exceptions are those extremely nitpicked cards like the MSI Lightning or Galax HOF.

So far, it looks like immediate availability at launch.

Yes and nearly 1000 in stock and ready for launch with more on standby should we need if sales are strong.

Edit:
It has been a long time since I have seen, hard launch with reviews.

Some interesting news from PCPer. Looks like the clock rates were leaked on Newegg (for this VisionTek card at least) at 1120 MHz core and 1266MHz boost. A few more models were also put up on Newegg but no clock information was given.

I'm not disputing that, yet GTX 1080 was reviewed 2 weeks prior the launch. Here we have hard launch.
launch date was 27-th as set by Nvidia, not when the reviews were published (17-th)

early reviews is just a bonus for the customers

Are any 1080's or 1070's available now? NOPE

Thus the downside of going with the bigger chip initially, low yields.
