AMD had to squeeze that extra $30 out of the consumer because they know.

$229 for a powerful card with 8gb of ram is a steal.

What do you guys think? Is the extra 4GB worth it for $30 more? I was hoping it would be $220 but I guess they didn't want to cannibalize the 4GB sales.

$229 would be good acceptable price for 8GB version. It's certainly better than the $239 I expected. I don't remember the cost of GDDR5 precisely but +$30 for +4GB of GDDR5 8GHz seems not a complete rip off.

Seems like 300€ for the 8GB one and 250ish for 4GB.

but they're certainly worth less than $30, even 4GB vs 8GB DDR4 sticks doesn't cost that much more.

And iPhone costs roughly $200 and sells $700. Whats your point? AMD is a charity now to sell at cost?

when did AMD start manufacturing cards? last time i heard they only sell dies to AIB, they have no percentage cut over whatever AIB releases.
it doesn't matter whether AIB releases 4GB or 8GB RX480, AMD will get the same price off their dies.
