When to expect $379 (MSRP) GTX 1070?

Thread Starter
I don't typically buy cards around launch window, nor have to deal with "founders edition" nonsense. Now that custom cooled cards are appearing on newegg the cheapest card with what appears to be crappy cooler is $409, which is still $30 more than MSRP. Is that standard practice to gouge prices for the first few months before seeing MSRP or we won't see $379 at all?

I feel that at $400+ 1070 is not really a good deal.

I'd guess we'll see them by September after the 'new and cool' factor fades a bit.

This is probably more accurate a guess to be honest.

waiting does devaluate the card extremely frown.gif

I'd pay 379$ for it now, but not in 3 months.

I'm in the same boat, waiting for 379 GTX1070. I been stuck on my HD4600 for 2 weeks and it's a nightmare. mad.gif I sold my 980 for 319 3 weeks ago, hoping I can snag a 379 1070 and only pay 60 difference for an upgrade, guess didn't worked out. mad.gif

In all honesty what do we expect when Nvidia drops a bomb like "Pay $379 for a card that is on par or beats the Titan X!". Scalpers gonna scalp. It'll be at least Aug before we start seeing prices close to MSRP.

It looks to me that the MSI Aeros is the cheapest 1070 at this moment priced at $409.99, still $30.99 away from the 379 MSRP. mad.gif

Mmm on 2nd hand market sure, new nah nGreedia raised the prices with a price hike plus the founders edition which compels AIBs to sell at higher price as well. Plus the lack of supply into the market, they are often sold out as shops can't get any stuff to sell, shortages up in the SC, hikes the prices too.

The cheapest seen so far are some blower cooler cards but nowhere near $379 MSRP.

All in all 1070 launch price is effectively +$100 compared to what 970 was.
