They are the older Scythe (AP-15) GT non-pwm fans.
I'll be hooking them up to an AQ6 XT as well, but I had originally planned on simply using three sets of these Darkside Y-cables I bought from Daz:
https://www.dazmode.com/store/product/3-pin-triple-radiator-push-pull-fan-power-y-cable-splitter-jet-black/
and then hooking them up directly to the Aquaero.

Are the Splitty9's a better way to go?

I'm using 5 because I want to control the fans independently with different channels on my Aquaero. If you're ok with using the same curve or preset speed for all of the fans on the same splitty you're all set.

Thanks for the reply, and a good answer for my situation.

I figured you were wanting to have independent control of the fans with that many Splittys, it won't be necessary for my much simpler setup.
I'll likely order one as it looks to be a good product, I'd rather not use the ModMyToys one I have lying around unused yet, lol.

That's going to look cool having them setup on the back of your motherboard tray.
They should be very accessible there, and as you mentioned, removable with the Velcro mounting.thumb.gif

I believe it's discussed above (or over in the SM8 build log), but the ModMyToys have RPM signal from all 8 of their fans (where the Splitty and the Phanteks hub I used in my previous build only sense RPM from one fan, and then send appropriate power to all). This results in my AQ6 reading fluctuating fan speeds (1200 RPM, 300 RPM, 0 RPM, repeats), and it causes my fans to wind up and cycle constantly. There is a mod possible by clipping the pins, but I opted for the Splittys.

As an aside, make sure when you do hook up your fans that you don't have a splitter on the 4-pin connection that's sensing speed (the one labelled RPM on the splitty).

Yeah, that's a cleaner way to go rather than clipping pins.

I'll be sure to not use a splitter on the RPM pin, thanks again.smile.gif

My second set of IceModz radiator mounts (the ones with the tracking number) still haven't made their way to Canada yet. They were sent August 3.

Eep! If you're ordering from Icemodz (great cables & customer service, 10/10) maybe consider an alternative courier if you don't have two months to kill waiting for the postman to arrive.

I found the EVGA SLI bridge I need online in Canada and paid a hefty premium for the price gouging, but it'll be on its way at last!

Can I interest you in a pair of modified shower curtain rings that will work just as well?

I have them in black and also natural (plastic) aluminum. biggrin.gif

Once I actually got my hands on the Ethereal mounts they look great.

My knock on it would be that you have to be cautious as the edges of the dual really try hard to scratch your reservoir tube. Definitely put your case on its side to mount your reservoirs.
