Actually, Dominator is fine RAM. Fine RAM with the biggest, most ridiculous useless ornamental heatspreader known to man that can't be removed easily. It's not bad RAM in terms of performance, but it is a bad RAM choice due to the useless appendage.

Yeah, that heat spreader is freaking huge. I got it because it was cheap, not because the way it looks.

I have to ask, did you actually try what I suggested? Or just go by the looks of the socket distance?

Many have fallen for the same 'cheap' only to have the same 'clearance' problems later.

These tall heat spreaders are so common that many people now think normal RAM without heatspreaders is 'short'. tongue.gif

Like the constant references to standard height RAM like, say, HyperX Fury, G Skill Ares or Vengenace LP as "low profile", when it is actually standard height? And no actual awareness of the fact that there is actually low profile RAM - http://www.memory4less.com/m4l_itemdetail.aspx?itemid=1465366135&partno=M379B5273DH0-YK0&rid=90&origin=pla&gclid=CjwKEAjw-r27BRCzsNyzrMrM-j0SJACp2TiBMvARsbYNdApmWX8NEo4OCz409tR_caSEhM8jDn8tgxoC8Bvw_wcB ?

Sorry, but that s VERY Low Profile. At least that is what it is called in your link. biggrin.gif
How tall is that short stuff?
Where would it ever be needed? It well shorter than normal RAM clips are.
Is it 'Midget RAM'?

I can confirm that not all motherboards are spaced right for the PH-TC14PE to clear taller RAM heat spreaders in dual channel configuration. My board is the Gigabyte G1.Sniper Z170. Fortunately, the Corsair Vengeance LPX has pretty short heat spreaders, so I have no fitment issues, but overly tall spreaders would have clearance issues from the fins when used on my board.
