Wow... The scaling on the single ribbon is HILARIOUS in some games. NVidia up to shenanigans again with their drivers. rolleyes.gif

lol, really? they didn't use 2xflex bridge? come on biggrin.gif
How hard do they need to sell the fancy new bridges it's a just a damn piece of wired connections, no chips no nothing except a silly LED.

There are better reviews that show how the HB bridge does and it's the same as the flex one. Obviously.

so nvidia found yet another way to get more money?

Well in Ngreedia's defence, if you're dropping over a thousand dollars on graphics cards, what's another 40 - 50 dollars to complete the bling bling effect. IF the bridge starts becoming needed for lower tier cards like the GTX 1060, then that'll be interesting.

as a side note I will address this now as I am sure someone will ask, you can’t simply install two flex bridges to achieve high-bandwidth performance, doing so will break SLI support.

Such a useless product.

Some users have been reporting performance gains when using two single bridges with their 1080 SLI setup. To my knowledge this caused issues with the Maxwell based cards but I decided to give it a shot after completing all the testing previously. To my surprise with two flex connectors installed I received the exact same boosts in The Witcher 3, Division and Fallout 4 as I did with the high bandwidth bridge. So it seems if you have two legacy connectors you don’t actually need a high bandwidth bridge.

This seems really fishy to me. Every review I've seen so far has the 1080 having similar scaling in SLI and running 10 - 15% faster than a 980ti. Combine that with the fact that at least 2 of the 3 listed (Witcher 3 and Fallout 4) were notoriously hampered by Trashworks settings of hairworks and godrays, both of which when turned off had little to no change in the visuals of the game and I can't help but think this is just an Nvidia con job

Yes, that's why he quote that exact sentence.

Also, that's why we have only the games with gains on the first post instead of a balance between negative and positive results. Especially after the fact that almost 7 games didn't show any meaningful gain
