Building in August - Worth waiting for Kaby Lake?

Hello all,

I am slowly saving for a build in August but after seeing the prices of current CPU should I just wait for Kaby Lake? I was planning on a 2011v3 DDR 4 build with 1080 SLI, The chip prices currently on the pricey side for not much of an upgrade. Pretty well built machine 4 years ago and have my 2700k OC stable at 4.6. So would you wait until Kaby Lake if your machine could easily last until they arrive?

I guess where I am getting at is Kaby Lake going to be worth the wait for what is currently out?

Thanks for any advice and may the Schwartz be with you!

Eh, it will be minimal improvements but i dont think it will be anything amazing. tiny boosts. though if your saving for a new system and you dont mind waiting, with it being a few months out i would wait, just to have the slightly newer tech. skylake is wonderful and i love my system but i cant say its something i'd jump the gun on if i had your system. wait out for kaby lake and i think you will be more pleased overall with the performance boost more so then you would be with skylake. hope this helps.

Probably not

maybe 5% IPC bump in some workloads and +- 100mhz.
