New RAM but which one to pick?

Thread Starter
So long story short the RAM that i had picked for my new build is now out of stock so i need to find something else instead, RAM has never been my strong point at all so i would like some input here

Since i live in Denmark pretty much all i can pick is either Corsair or Kingston RAM

The new motherboard that i picked is the new Gigabyte X99 Ultra Gaming which has support for RAM up to 3600 MHz
http://www.gigabyte.com/products/product-page.aspx?pid=5809#ov

Since i am doing a lot of video and other editing on my machine i need 32 GB of RAM as 16 GB is already starting to be just barely enough so 32 GB it is as this build need to last at least 3 years

This is the RAM kit i am now looking at and its a 4 x 8 GB Corsair 3000 MHz kit
https://www.computersalg.dk/i/1354559/corsair-vengeance-lpx-ddr4-32-gb-4?sq=Corsair+Vengeance+LPX+-+DDR4+-+32+GB+%3a+4+x+8+GB+-+DIMM+288-PIN+-+3000+MHz

But i also see that they have a 3200 MHz kit for about $5 more
https://www.computersalg.dk/i/1270948/corsair-vengeance-lpx-ddr4-32-gb-4?sq=Corsair+Vengeance+LPX+-+DDR4+-+32+GB+%3a+4+x+8+GB+-+DIMM+288-PIN+-+3200+MHz

Is it worth to spend the extra $5 to get 200 MHz more or is it a waste of money at this point? is it even worth getting a 3000 MHz
Note that besides editing i will also be playing games and from what i recall back in the old days faster speed gave you slighty higher min FPS numbers in games

Prices on the 2400 /2666 / 2800 Mhz kits to compare

Interesting article to read: http://www.techspot.com/article/1171-ddr4-4000-mhz-performance/
So there is an improvement with faster ram, but you need a good GPU to see it.

From what I see, I will get the 2600, which is only a tiny more expensive than the 2400.
The 40$ you need to add for the 3200 (which is actually cheaper than the 3000!) is not worth it I think.

Myself I just grab a G.Skill Aegis 2x 16GB 2400MHz kit, so cheap at 120$!

Hi, about choosing between 3000, and 3200 (i asked the same question a while ago in a thread) always go for the higher speed one, as it's supposed to be just a little better, and for 5$ i would certainly go for it.

About going for 3000+ mhz as opposed to 2400/2666 i am still looking for that answer myself. I read quite a bit of reviews and the differences seem to be minimal between the kits like 2-3%, in some tests the lower speed kits even win, except for AIDA memory test, where the difference in bandwidth is pretty substantial, but if i understood correctly it doesn't quite translate into real-life performance.

As said said in my last post the Kingston kit i wanted is back in stock and i already ordered it
Its a 3000 MHz kit as Kingston dont seem to have RAM that are faster and reasonably priced

These are the ones i ordered
https://www.computersalg.dk/i/1312567/hyperx-savage-ddr4-32-gb-4-x-8-gb?utm_source=EDBpriser&utm_medium=edbpriserLINK&utm_campaign=EDBpriser

And this is the only Kingston kit that is faster, but its way overpriced and the heatsinks are too tall
https://www.computersalg.dk/i/1637006/kingston-hyperx-predator-ddr4-32-gb?utm_source=EDBpriser&utm_medium=edbpriserLINK&utm_campaign=EDBpriser

Thanks anyway.
