Zac Of All Trades

Welcome to my first real build log here on OCN. I have been around these forums for a few years and its time to replace my old workstation with something to last me for many years to come. I am an owner of a managed services/IT company here in Augusta as well as a separate company that handles web development and digital marketing. This PC is aimed to be a workstation to allow me to do everything from everyday office tasks to programming to 4K video editing in Adobe Premiere & After Effects. You can definitely expect to see TONS of pictures and maybe even some video and reviews of my impressions of some of these components along the way. For this build log I will be using a mixture of lenses for my Nikon D500 and D750 and for all you camera enthusiasts out there I will probably end up going off on how I captured some of the shots. I have spent a lot of time photographing cars and other sporting events but never really spent much time taking pictures of my PC's before so this should be an exciting project! Now onto the planning, parts list, and some pictures! thumb.gif

That's quite a powerhouse set of parts. Looking forward to seeing this build. My assumption based on Guru3D benchmarks is that a single 1080 should be more powerful than SLI 780 Ti's (http://www.guru3d.com/articles_pages/nvidia_geforce_gtx_1080_review,1.html).

Update 1

Tons of part inbound and unpacked!

All I can see is these are amazing pieces! The pure quality of the packaging and the blocks themselves are stunning. Plus, a big shout out to @Shoggy here on the OCN who reps for them. He is super helpful and responsive.

The best part though... There are two of them!

This stock cooler is damn good looking if they would just back light the Geforce logo in RGB LED instead of the green. No worries... Its gone anyway! Here is a shot of the PCB because I know how much we all love those! And a final shot with the EK block installed. I swear EK blocks just get sexier and sexier every build I do. thumb.gif

Some more watercooling parts that I have unpacked

And time for some of the main components...Seems Pepe snuck back into the frame...

I am currently waiting on the rest of the parts to arrive. I may begin to do some case teardown next and mock up the parts to prepare to bend some hardlines!

Now onto researching how to make custom cable extensions! thumb.gif

Update 2

So I began mocking everything up and found I was definitely going to need some fittings to make this work. Also that I had totally not even though about how to connect the 2 SSD blocks together. So I had to place an order. Next day Performance PC came through with a slew of new parts

I have continued to mock everything up and hope that I have everything I need to complete this build. It always seems I need "Just one more fitting biggrin.gif"

The Vardar fans are super impressive! Pepe couldn't resist a good photo bomb.

I also test mounted the radiators and did end up having to mod the mounting hole to properly mount the 280 radiator in push pull. I have done it though!

Additionally the Nickel x99 Monoblock from EK is on back order so I picked up an acetal version to allow me to continue working until stock returns

Anyone have any thoughts/comments/suggestions so far?
