Well my stability didnt last, its now clear that this card has real problem with hardware decoding of H264 material, something AMD are remaing silent about for some reason, this card will be going back if they dont fix it soon.

I'm also getting BSOD's again when playing movies, this is on a clean build of windows.

STEER CLEAR OF THIS CARD FOR HTPC USE !!!!

I never had any problems with crashing. Perhaps it's not the card?

The BSODs only happen when i'm playing movies so its likely related, could be i've crashed so many times it corrupting my OS, the BSODs did stop when I rebuild my OS but started again after a few days.

If I dont return this card and DXVA gets fixed properly i'll probs do another clean rebuild.

Then return it or exchange it. Also don't use latest beta drivers. The 4xx and 10xx drivers are not mature yet.

I"ve had 1 white screen but it could have been caused by overclock madness. I did see one other report of gpu randomly hitting 100%. I haven't had that problem. Intermittent problems without clear reproduction steps are the hardest to recreate. What the AMD support guy did was say he'd try to recreate it. That doesn't mean he did recreate it. He seems to be trying to get more info and earnestly trying to recreate it. That just means they believe the customers are telling the truth. They can't work on a fix or even know if the problem is their's to fix until they recreate the issue.

it could be PCI express 2.0, hard to say whats going on and whether AMD are working on it, its not even clear if people using a PCI Express 3.0 mainboard are having any issues, I'm not upgrading my rig until I know for sure.
