Best 3D gaming setup?

I currently own a ROG Swift but the pixel inversion makes the 3D quality very poor. So I am looking for a better alternative for 3D gaming.

I would appreciate your input on this topic. I am trying to purchase the best 3D gaming setup possible using a 4K TV and SLI GTX 1080. I also plan to use the 4K TV as a computer monitor. I am considering the Samsung JS9000 and JS9500. My question is can these 4K TVs display side-by-side 3D @60Hz with a resolution of 2K per eye? I read that the best way to get higher resolution 3D is using TriDef.

Are there other 4K TVs that will work given my requirements for instance the lower end Samsung TVs like JU7100 or JU7500? Are there regular computer monitors which I should consider that will produce quality 3D unlike the awful ROG Swift? Thanks!

nVidia hasn't updated or worked on 3DVision since 2008... It's pretty much a dead tech. Can nVidia cards even display standard SBS 3d for games?? Seems like a lot of investment and effort into tech that gets harder and harder to find equipment for.

Pretty much what has been posted. 3D is a very niche product, the trend has moved on completely to VR headsets (HTC Vive, Oculus Rift) rather than trying to keep up 3d on a 2d screen. Also using a TV as a monitor is generally a bad idea, they are made for watching video and not made for low latency interaction with games etc.

It sound like you're trying to do regular 3d on the swift instead of nVidia's 3D Vision which actually has its own emitter and glasses. If you actually are already using this and you consider the quality poor then I don't think there will be much difference between other monitors either. The stuff has mostly been on the back burner, especially now that VR is taking dominance.

As for doing standard 3d on TV's it's entirely up to how well the TV does it. Someone with knowledge on each model and how well the display and glasses that come with it work will have to answer that.

Thanks for the comments. I understand it is a dying tech but I do enjoy 3D for 3rd person games like Tomb Raider. Nvidia 3D Vision is garbage for gaming on a TV. It is stuck at 720p. I saw a youtube video that claims to be able to get SBS 3D on GTX 980ti.

I appreciate your comments. I have used Nvdia's 3D vision for the swift which it supports natively. The problem is the issue with Gsync produces vertical lines due to pixel inversion. This makes the quality of 3D very poor because the resolution appears to be much lower than it actually is. Picture quality is just so much worse in 3D on the swift.

I have read about claims some of the Samsung models have low input lag and little motion blur making them good for gaming. I wanted to get people's opinion here.

I might be entirely wrong here but from what I have read 3d vision and g sync are not officially supported to run together. I dont actually know if any panel including the swift can do them together (properly).

Also nvidia 3d vision is not the same as stereoscopic 3d (which nvidia can do) and only certain mistubishi TV's can actually support 3d vision.

Its also might be difficult to find proper benchmarks on TV input latency due to the fact that people instantly dismiss all TV's as having at a minimum 100ms of lag. Compared to the swift or proper 120/144hz monitors at 8.3ms or less its not really comparable. Monitors are built ffor this kind of spec. TV's generally ignore latency sped because its not what they are designed to do.

Again I might be completely wrong since ive been out of the game for a while now. Someone can correct me if thats the case smile.gif
