z97 motherboard needed with x16/x16 or x16/x8/x8 PCIe layout

Hi guys

I have a fairly unique use case in that I want to set up a dual boot system, with one windows installation running dual Fury Xs and another installation running a GTX 1080. I want to be able to configure such that the Furys are running on a 16x/8x configuration, and ideally the 1080 on a separate 16x slot (where the AMD cards in this configuration would be disabled in device mgr). Worst case the 1080 would probably be fine on an 8x slot.

The problem is almost all z97 mobos I've seen only have 16 lanes across all slots, so I'm looking at 8x/4x/4x which really won't cut it.

The only mobo I've seen that would support my requirements is the Asus z97 WS workstation edition which is discontinued globally by all accounts... does anyone happen to know of another z97 that would do the job?

I want to stick with the z97 if I can as my i7 4790k and 32Gb RAM is only a year old...

Thanks for your help!
Dave

Hey mate, thanks for posting. I thought I was onto a winner here until I read the review that states:
The PCIe layout is the standard Z97 pitch for 4-way AMD GPUs without a PLX chip:

1 GPU: x16
2 GPU: x8/0/x8 (also for SLI)
3 GPU: x8/x4/x4
4 GPU: x8/x4/x4 + x4 from chipset

So unfortunately it seems to have the same issues frown.gif
