Can the processor be cause for win 7 logo lock up

Thread Starter
Long story short, I have had this issue for while where it may take me several resets to get passed the windows 7 logo screen due to it freezing up, at first it didnt bother me too much until last sunday the constant reboots finally took out my PNY SSD. I know another member who uses the 5820K and similar to mine their pc just locks up where the 4 dots form the logo until they did an RMA with intel.

Its not the overclocking causing this issue because this happens even when everything is at stock. Should i get a back up 5820K and RMA the processor? I dont think its the motherboard since the last motherboard i was using did the same thing.

It sounds like it could be the SSD, Mobo, or CPU. but if it took out your SSD i say its either cpu or mobo, maybe rma both? thats a very tough thing to test especially without having extra parts to test with to see what isnt working, maybe try rma'ing the cpu and mobo at the same time? just replace both possible culprits outright, i mean if your sending one out might as well send the other imo. hope this helps a little bit.
