Keyboard slow under high CPU usage.

Thread Starter
When my computer has high CPU usage my keyboard will only type 1 letter every half second or so, I have no issues with mouse lag at all. In games like CS:GO keys will act like they are stuck down for a second or two after released even though they aren't actually. I've tried USB 3.0 and 2.0 ports and get the same results. I am using a Razer Blackwidow Ultimate 2013. A fresh windows install didn't seem to help either.

Anyone have any ideas?

Current Specs

CPU - i5-2500k @4.2GHz
CPU Cooler - Corsair H55
Ram - 16GB G Skill 1333MHz DDR3 7-7-7-21
Mobo - ASRock Extrem3 Gen3 Z68
GPU - EVGA GTX 970 SSC
Sound Card - Creative Sound Blaster X-Fi XtremeGamer Fatal1ty Pro (Might be a different variant but similar)
PSU - Seasonic 850HT
SSD - Mushkin Enhanced Chronos 240GB (Windows and CSGO installed)
HDD - WD Blue 500GB

use the ps/2 port on the motherboard for your keyboard

My FX rigs will behave this way if something isn't stable.
Might be signs of instability creeping up in an older system.
However I did have issues with usb input lag on p67 and Z68 boards.

I see you have a Corsair liquid cooler. I am assuming that you are using the Corsair Link software that goes with it. With that assumption, the Corsair Link is more than likely the culprit behind the high cpu usage causing your keyboard to lag. I had the same problem happen to me. The quick and easy way to stop this is to not run Corsair Link or only open it when you need to use it and close out of it when you are finished.

Man, if this is the case you are a hero. Extra points for the detective work

I'd doubt that....I use the Link software to control my H100i (and have been for the last 2+ years), and this issue has literally never happened to me....Plus, the H55 doesn't get controlled by Link - it's similar to the Kuhler 620, just plug in and forget....

Corsair link would cause troubles on my Z68 FTW rig, usb connection issues would drive it crazy.

You would have to use a USB to PS/2 adapter
