Samsung SM961 NVMe Thread - Page 9

I've got a new system with a MSI X99A Godlike, SM961 1TB and 2 EVGA GTX 1080 (slots 1 and 4) but I'm having trouble trying to get good performance (in the 4K dept).

This is on Windows 10 x64 with a i7 6950x and no OC yet.

I've tried the M.2 slot and a PCI card (slot 5) but with the same results. I've tried the Samsung NVM Express driver (1.4.7.17) Samsung magician says it's running at x4. Caching is enabled.

I use the system for work on large VPC's (100GB+) so quick access on large files quickly is a must.

Any ideas anyone?

Someone know this Problem and can help me?

dpc_watchdog_violation a get a Blue Screen

Laptop configuration:

Model:NV7-792G-xxxx
CPU i7-6700HQ
Ram HyperX 32GB 2400MHz
SSDs: Samsung SM961 512GB and Crucial MX200 512GB
Windows 10 Education x64
earlier SSD was Samsung 950 pro 512Gb, I have done a Disk image with Acronis 2016(also I tried a Windows Backup), the first error I got was inaccesibale_Device. After I go to the Safe mode it is started normalla, when I use Disk Benchmark(ATTo, Christaldiskmark, AnvilPro), it freezes and I get dpc_watchdog_violation.
I installed Samsung Driver manually, 2 versions I tried, the version 1.4.7.17 and 1.4.7.6, and the same error is with windows standart nvme driver.
Bios Version: 1,09

With Samsung 950 pro 512Gb I had not any Problem.

Do you think Windows new Installation will help?

Hmm, neither of those will install for me. Says Windows already has the best driver installed and won't let me select the Samsung driver.

Now, I have installed it complettly new Windows 10 x64 Edition, I have done only Windows updates, only Driver that is not recognized was Audiodriver.
So first I start ATTO Benchmark, with standart nvme Driver from Windows.
Then I it go to BSOD with Kritical Process Died, then i Installed manually the last Samsung Driver,
then started Christaldiskmark Benchmark, then I got DPC_watchdog_violation.

From another HDD I start Windows 10 and do the same, it freezes just a Moment and I could do something else. so I could open the Folder in sm961, but can not execute something, I hear the Sound from the sm961, I think it goes Infinite Loop of writeing. or it working something wrong with buffer.

I do not know is it a Driver Problem, shall I wait until Samsung produces a new Driver or shoud i send it back, becouse it is not compatible with my laptop?

Samsung 950 pro 512GB is not recognized in Bios but ist works fine in Windows, sm961 is recognized in Bios but is not working properly

Ag thanks that worked. Went to the disk itself instead of storage controller.

AS SSD and AnvilPro with Samsung nvme driver is running without Problems. If I starts CrystalDiskMark5_1_2 or ATTO Benchmark v3.05 it goes to BSOD of DPC_Watchdog_Violation. It is beginning to collect the Bug Information and restarts, the computer is not starting it hanging on, so I must do a hard shutdown and start again.
In ATTO Becnhmark from 512B to 1MB is going without Problem it makes DPC_watchdog_violation when it arrives to 2mb or 4mb.
I think the problem is if the Benchmark start reading more then 3000MB/s then it is makeing Problems, AS SSD and AnvilPro reading speed is not going more then then 3000MB/s
I think it is the Problem in Samsung nvme driver. And the same problem is with Microsoft standart nvm driver.
In driver there is a speed restriction.
