Will you buy RX 480 at launch? - Page 9

somewhat disappointing benchmarks so far, but do think as the drivers improve this will slowly get better. Imo it sits very similar to r9 390, and is still worth the upgrade from the 380.

and as far as overclocking goes... again, not surprised but disappointed to say the least, but am very interested in seeing if the partner boards will overclock better. results on reference model are very unimpressive.

Newer drivers should add some fixes imo and AIB solutions will add even more biggrin.gif hopefully at not much greater price.

480 with immature drivers beats 970 with mature drivers in almost every game, for 20$ less and 4Gb RAM more.

That's by far not a disappointing result for me!

I think I'm just going to wait until AIB solutions come out and when the drivers mature a bit and I'm actually surprised where not getting price gouged to much in Australia.

Looks like pccasegear has the 4gb version@$319 and the 8gb@$379.

Already loving the 480 results, I dont know why people just assume reference cards are the peak and thats what we should judge by. I dont remember reference cards and blower coolers ever being the be all end all for cards.

Its dat AIB Doe.

Man, cant the AIBs come any faster. My Body is ready.
Perfect card for my other rig. gimme gimme.

Have you guys seen the Crossfire performance?! some games, meh, but most AMAZING! for like ~$200 less than one 1080.(or one 1070)

I'm just waiting for the aftermarket boards to come out. Not a big fan of a reference blower. That card runs 4850 style hot so putting a pair of them in my system isn't going to be that good.

Once I can get a pair of Strix or MSI cards I'll jump on crossfire 480's

I did buy first day... Haven't had a new GPU since early 2011, so it's about time. thumb.gif
