Skadoodle and Semphis: Logi new mouse - Page 128

post #1271 of 1323
I had so much doubt, but you guys did great on this! Going on CS pro feedback worked really well, and if this mouse is anything to go by, they largely just wanted the same thing enthusiasts here on OCN did, their G100s with side buttons and a better sensor, so they don't have to worry about the constant malfunctions the AM010 gives you in a low sense game like CS. (Though I'm sure there were complaints about the scroll wheel and creaking chassis too) Based on recent Logitech mice, I already had negative personal expectations for specific parts of this.. I thought that even if you guys did well on this it would have odd, possibly scraping mouse feet and the same cable as the last few mice, but at first glance the feet look well done and since Ino called the cable good, surely it's not the same as the last models tongue.gif, and everything else looks absolutely tip top thumb.gif People might talk about this mouse in the future like people talk about their past MX518s now.. Now that you've done this, you might just have to add to your Pro lineup by giving the G400s a real successor - and in shape, not just name, and then I can think of another classic Logitech mouse that could come back and sell well to RTS and MOBA players and pros alike.. and then of course a larger, more FK shaped ambi would be good too wink.gif

Edit: Ino said the LOD was less than a CD. The G100s had a very high LOD, frankly too high, but I liked it being on the higher side, and with such a small mouse you tilt it a little bit here and there when you use it too, which of course lifts it off the mat a wee bit. I vaguely recall that your 3366 mice so far use the default LOD setting of, I think, 2mm but that the sensor is capable of being set to 3mm. If there isn't a way to raise the LOD in the software aside from surface calibration, it would be a good option to implement in the future thumb.gif

An option to manually raise or lower the LoD in addition to the surface calibration would be great, yes.

For some reason Logitech does not want to provide an option to make the LoD higher (asked CPate in Ino's stream). 336x certainly has the feature to do so. For me, the low LoD is a bigger issue with the G303 than the shape. The narrow base makes the G303 very tilt-prone in my grip/playstyle and I have to really concentrate on keeping it flat, losing a lot on aiming really. However, G Pro has a wider base so it probably will not tilt as easily, if at all.

could it mess with the tracking if the LoD is higher than "supposed to" with the new 3366 and you basically have no choice like you had with the 3310?

@CPate, @qsxcv? biggrin.gif

surface tuning isnt just for the different LoD settings i guess?

not sure about 3366 but with the 3mm option on 3360, smoothing goes up to 32frames for the very top of the tracking range (i.e. if you lift the mouse high enough that it would not track with the 2mm setting)

What if you didn't adjust the setting and instead lowered the sensor and put it closer to the pad what effect would that have on the 3366?

I feel kinda gouged man, I really do. $100 Canadian is more then I was prepared to spend on this mouse total, nevermind before shipping and taxes... I was hoping it would truly be a G100S successor. Oh well, pre-ordered anyway biggrin.gif
