To compete with their opponents other companies like Razer Corp need to release something similar otherwise it might be the beginning of their end. Despite hating Razer for many years I still don't want to see them degraded to a point of non-existence because it means Logitech stands alone and watch their prices reflect that new world order.

We need more companies using the 3360 sensor range because it means a vast choice in gaming for the future, instead of only relying upon ONE company to deliver our pleasure.
razer will keep using their 16k dpi laser sensor not 3360 lol, the only mouse they care about is deathadder so IF they do use 3360 it'd be only in that since abyssus always has to use the worse sensor because hurr small ambidextrous

Just wait for Zowie to use the 3360 sensor. They don't even have to change the shapes of their mice they just need to replace 3310 sensor.

Zowie will be the main competitor of Logitech once they use the 3360.

Once 3360 will be EOL, sure. By then Logitech will be using something else.

Being portfolio manager seems quite high up in the hierarchy. Wouldn't this be a case where you tell yourself to not talk about this stuff? ;-)

Main competitor how? Not sales-wise, that's for sure.

Besides, it will probably take a looong time before Zowie updates the sensor.. They are known for being slow.

I doubt they'd use the 3360, the 3989 feels better IMO and since they have the exclusive rights I doubt they would perform a sidegrade on one of their most beloved products.
Others have access to the 3988/3989 sensor much like the 3366/3360 so it's not really exclusive per se.
