1080Ti being imminent(this year or Q1 next year) is a myth

it was a joke, 1080 being so poorly stocked and all.

Due to the lack of stock people are starting to pay anything for these cards. I'm watching these $699 Zotac FEs sell out within seconds. Saw a few sell for over $900 last night in under 5 minutes.
I can't even imagine how bad it would be over the Tis with even less stock, people would be paying $2K for them.

It's fine because it's Nvidia and there's also some cards in Poland I heard.

Where I live a a local store had 15 cards in stock and they were gone within 2 hours (and they did not expect that, so they don't have eta on next shipment). A few hours later 3 of those appeared in a local site for sale for 30% extra price tongue.gif

So it could be that a lot or also buying those cards intentionally causing shortage in order to sell them for higher price, monopolising on the market.

Also a local chain where I live have over 20 FE cards in stock, but they are selling them for a bit over 1000$ so no wonder.

"for $900" is redundant in that sentence

How did they manage to sell less 980 ti's on launch despite all these 1080 stock issues. Less marketing?

Best selling garbage of the year..................................... My 7950 as almost the same bandwith than this thing yea 288gbs.

Doesn't that just prove how much more advanced Pascal is when compared to first gen GCN?

http://www.anandtech.com/bench/product/1722?vs=1714

Techpowerup lists 1080 as having ~3.2x the perf/watt of a 280x (rebranded 7970). FPS per gigabyte/s of memory bandwidth should be similarly improved - that's a pretty dramatic difference.

1070/1080 is medium sized chip. Even if you didn't find any of the above impressive, it's ~314mm/2 with 320GB/s of memory bandwidth. Nvidia have already announced a chip that was (going from memory) ~610mm^2 with 720GB/s of memory bandwidth, so a similar announcement for a gaming focused launch could double the performance of the 1080.

I just wanted to take a moment to declare that the GPU I released last week is the best-selling GPU of all time.

For proof, just look online. You will literally not be able to find it anywhere.

Yea but i mean that the 1080 cost 1k$ in canada and it far from a 4k gpu or multimonitor..

It do perform well.... But im sure the bandwith is bottlenecking that gpu..

My 7950 gain 2-3 fps at 5760x1080 in one of my game at 30fps with the vram overclock... I tried it on and off multiple time and it do increase...

So why a 3x more powerfull gpu would not need more bandwith?
