i5 6600K- quest for stable 4.6 GHz - Page 2

So I messed around with a few things today- vccio, V system control, Vdram, and DRAM power control settings. Everything except Vdram made me fail prime95 earlier. I did set DRAM voltage up to 1.3 without any negative effects- although I didn't see much of an improvement in anything either.

Anyways most of everything is the same, except DRAM voltage now up to 1.3. I downloaded OCCT v 4.4.2 or whatever the new one is and left it running, came back and it was at 3 hours no problem- although temps were a bit high, maxing out at 87C, and typically bouncing between 65 and 80C. If that new OCCT version is acceptable I'll submit my results to that overclocking thread.

Now it's time to drop voltage bit by bit until I hit the limit. I might start at LLC.

Alright. I tried cutting LLC to 5 and bumping Vcore up to 1.42. Prime95 crashed immediately. Then I put it to 1.425 and OCCT immediately stopped with a core 1 error. For some reason Vcore read as 1.424 both times. It seems like my motherboard refuses to give me any voltages other than 1.424 and 1.440 (spikes to this under load with LLC above 5).

Now by this point I've gotten pretty fed up with this whole LLC thing and am throwing in the towel. In the meantime I might as well see if this 1.44V can sustain a 4.7 clock. I'm running that OCCT now as I'm out doing things. We'll see how it did when I get back.
