Yeah, i kinda like wattman. Don't know why.. tongue.gif

Hopefully there's decent monitoring for temps, I'd like something similar to AB.

The marketing is cringe worthy but with releasing this they are matching their words with actions - AMD is setting quite a precedent by giving the consumer these controls out of the box (even if it is called CakeWalk).

More talk about the name rather than the function.

So I read that XFX will be releasing a reference card with stock clocks (1266) as well as an overclocked version (1328?). But since they're both reference that means the only actual difference is the clock speed, correct? So since all buyers will be supplied this Radeon Wattman software for overclocking, isn't it just a waste? It'll probably cost $20 more for something you can accomplish with five clicks of the mouse.

It may also have the backplate, me personally I have enough plates in my kitchen so would rather save the cash and adjust some sliders myself wink.gif

I think all XFX's versions of the RX 480 will have the backplate. Either way it's just cosmetic :/ At this point I don't think even a straitjacket could stop me from buying a reference model though. The AIBs will undoubtedly offer better performance, but my master scheme is to sell the 480 as soon as Vega comes out wink.gif

Interesting. I find your master scheme very modest, mine is to take over the world but hey each to their own. biggrin.gif
